Leather and Mesh Upper

Providing exceptional durability, the Keen Hightrail uses a leather mud shield and performance mesh upper. The combination of materials protects the feet from any bumps and knocks and protects itself from damage. The leather is produced more sustainably, and manufactured in Leather Working Group certified tanneries, which use processes to reduce the chemicals used. The mesh helps keep feet cool by allowing air to flow through the boot whilst helping remove built-up heat. The upper also features a breathable mesh lining that keeps your feet feeling cool and comfortable, allowing warm air to escape and be replaced by cooler air from the outside. KEEN.DRY waterproof protection keeps feet protected from moisture without sacrificing breathability, so you can keep going when the weather challenges you. The upper has also been treated with a PFA-free durable water repellent (DWR) for increased weather protection. The boots use a contoured fit that follows the foot’s shape for a comfortably snug fit. The KEEN.PROTECT toe bumper helps keep feet protected from knocks and bumps out on the trail. Completing the upper is a traditional lacing system that locks the midfoot to prevent excessive movement for a locked-in feel.

EVA Midsole

Constructed using an EVA midsole, the boots provide comfortable cushioning and high rebound that keeps you going all day. The dual-density EVA provides significant cushioning and comfort to help improve performance so you can stay at your optimum level, for longer. Holding excellent cushioning abilities, the midsole absorbs shocks as you move throughout the gait cycle, providing resilient cushioning and reducing potential injury risk. A removable, resilient foam insole for long-lasting cushioning also features to provide added cushioning and support. The insole sits comfortably under the foot and can be easily removed if you’d prefer not to use it. Increasing underfoot comfort, the boots also include a foam strobel board for extra cushioning. Treated with eco anti-odour, the insoles are infused with probiotic technology that naturally breaks down odour in sweat without heavy metals or hazardous chemicals, for a cleaner, fresher smell.

Keen.All-Terrain Outsole

Providing ultimate, all-around protection, the Hightrail Waterproof features a Keen.All-Terrain rubber outsole. The durable rubber provides a strong grip on the most challenging terrain; it works to protect itself from damage and protect users from losing control and slipping. It is also highly durable, meaning no matter what you throw at it, this boot will perform time and time again. This high-traction rubber promotes grip on multiple surfaces while delivering the durability you need to go the distance. The outsole also features multi-directional lugs, which provide meaningful traction on tough terrain. The lugs dig into the ground, anchoring you in place. This will also benefit you by acting as a solid base to push off from when taking a stride, digging into the ground when braking and changing direction. As an added benefit, the outsole is also non-marking, meaning you don’t have to worry about causing damage to any flooring, and KEEN.TERRAIN SHIELD wraps up around the midsole for protection and lateral stability.
